Finished Projects and Division

Look at these awesome ecosystem projects!  Students had to choose an ecosystem and make a poster with living things found in that ecosystem. They had to include a food chain as well and describe an adaptation of an animal found there.

We also looked at a new strategy in math using repeated subtraction to help us solve division problems.

Revising and Reviewing

The authors in this class were working hard today revising their stories!  We used a checklist to help us stay focused.   We also had an intense game of math baseball to get ready for tomorrow's chapter 2 math test.

Debating Books

Today we started to practice debating books.  We used a book that we all had in common and practiced debating an issue students had different views on. They did such a great job and brought in a lot of evidence from the text.

Buddy Time!

Today we met with our first grade buddies from Mrs. Boyd's room. We had a lesson about being proactive vs. reactive.  We had the example of a soda bottle and a water bottle. We shook up both bottles and talked about how the soda can be like a reactive reaction- it explodes!  We ended with a fun buddy brain break!
