We learned a lot today at the Sheldon about science and musical instruments. It was also Miss Thompson's last day in fourth grade. She is on to fifth and the class will miss her!

Note taking and Buddies!

We practiced taking notes using graphic organizers and looking at the text structure of a passage from our book.  Today our groups found problem/solution, description, and compare/contrast text structures. We also met with our buddies and shared our salt maps.

Researching Missouri

We started to research the different regions of Missouri today. We will use this research to create a brochure showing off our state. 

Students also generated ideas for their opinion essays. Today we wrote ideas about a person that is special.

Starting Essays

Today we started our unit on writing essays. We started as a class writing an essay about ice cream. Students will begin to brainstorm ideas for their own topics later this week. This chart in the picture shows the format we will use when writing essays.
