What a fun day!  We had a great old fashioned Christmas party with many fun activities.  Students also finished their snowman construction projects today. Have a great break and see you in 2017!

Today we had our personal narrative writing celebration. We invited a third grade class to come in and see our writing and they shared their informational reports with us. It was great to see the students share their hard work!

Today we did a cooperative activity in math working for a snowman construction company.  They had to create a snowman staying within certain weight and dollar guidelines.  They also had to use their division skills to convert ounces to pounds. Final products coming Monday!

Look at the book club pros we have here!  I love all the thinking on their post-it notes they bring to group. They are doing a great job leading the conversation. 


They are also taking off with the Mark Twain nominees. We share our reviews in class.... 


How lucky are we to have our principal come and read to us today too!  Great day of reading!

In our math stations this week students are doing a little holiday shopping. I think it makes them appreciate how complicated shopping for many can be!

Today we celebrated our persuasive essays. The students were in groups and in each group they gave awards for different parts of their writing such as best lead, good use of transitions, and endings.  Their essays look great!
