Attract or repel?
In science we gave some ballooons a negative charge and tested out some items to see if they would attract or repel each other.  Ask your fourth grader to sing our charge it up song for you!

Veterans Day

We started our day with a Veterans Day assembly.
Students also presented their weather disaster google slides to the class. They did a great job taking notes from a nonfiction text and then using those notes in their slides.
We also had a birthday today!

Wednesday, November 9, 2016

Today students started to work on their google slide presentations sharing their research with the class.
Happy birthday to Brendin!

Thank you for all the donations to Helping Hands!  We have a very generous class as you can see with all these Jammies!
We also spent time celebrating their awesome opinion essays. Students were able to read essays in two other fourth grade rooms as well.

Today we started to multiply 2 digit numbers. We used two different strategies. One is making a model using partial products. The other is the traditional algorithm and we called it the turtlehead method. Have your child show you the method tonight!
We also practiced synthesizing texts today in reading.

Look at these amazing authors!  They are using a checklist as they edit and make final touches to their essays.
Helping Hands started this week. Keep those items coming. Friday will be Jingle for Jammies and all money will go to Helping Hands.
