Pioneers!

Today we started a journey on the Oregon Trail. Students are working in groups to see if they can make this dangerous journey from Independence, Missouri. They have to make a plan deciding what supplies they will bring and they will encounter many dangers along the way.

Building a Monument

Students had a challenge in library to create an American Revolution monument today. They used some of the new maker space materials and worked in cooperative groups. 


Don't forget to dress as a character from a book tomorrow!

Also bring in those Box Tops!  Fourth grade is doing a great job with this!

Great Day!

This class had a great day- really a great week!  They worked so hard on both their math test and their evaluate reading tests today so we had to end the day with a little fun. It was just too pretty to sit inside!

Math test tomorrow!

We have a chapter 10 math test tomorrow so study those decimals! We played a baseball review game in class today. 

Don't forget the Makers Fair is going on until 6:00 tonight. We have 3 great prism projects there.

Matter Stations and Free Gym

We finished up our science stations today looking at the other areas of matter we learned about in class. Students looked at mixtures, density, and properties of matter. We were also the first class in the building to turn in our Jump Rope for Heart permission slips and earned a free gym class that was redeemed today!

Finding Volume

We started science stations today finishing up our matter chapter. Today we practiced measuring how much space matter takes up by measuring the volume of different objects around the classroom.

Today we tried an activity working together making catapults to fling sweethearts candy across our classroom. We have some strategic thinkers in here!  The class also had a lot of fun at Jump Rope for Heart.

Buddies Think Win-Win

We met with our buddies this morning and thought about the habit Win-Win. They listened to the story The Rainbow Fish and made "stinky fish" and "rainbow fish" discussing friendship with their buddies. 


We also had a birthday today!

Decimals

Today we started to learn about decimals in math. We looked at both tenths and hundredths, focusing on writing the decimal from both words and pictures.

The Big Debate!

We had a great debate today!  The Loyalists and the Patriots did a fabulous job debating whether or not the colonies should go to war. It became a little heated at times, but they were very respectful and showed they know their stuff!

Math Review

We have a chapter 9 test tomorrow in math. This chapter covers adding, subtracting, and multiplying fractions. We played a fun review game to get ready!  Students also have study guides to help.
