February CLC Assembly

Today we had our February CLC assembly first thing in the morning. Our reps for the month were able to participate in a game during the assembly as well. We learned a lot about "walking in other's shoes".

 

Free Gym Class!

When you are super responsible and turn in your JumpRope for Heart permission early you win an extra gym!  The class loved the extra time to run- especially on an indoor recess day. They also loved getting to see a video of their second grade circus years ago!

Underground Railroad

Today we played an online game from National Geographic about the Underground Railroad. We played together as a class and we were an escaped slave moving towards Canada. We had to make decisions at each stop along the way what to do. We learned a lot about how dangerous it could be to escape!

Grudgeball

We played a new review game in math today called Grudgeball. The class had to work in teams and answer many decimal and fraction questions. We had a homemade basketball hoop that gave extra points as well. 

On Monday our new literature circle groups came together to make a plan for reading. They will meet briefly on Mondays and Thursdays to discuss the text. 

Mathematicians

Math workshop is one of the best times of our day. We practice many different concepts each week. Working on both new and reviewing past chapters. Here are some activities we worked on this week. 

Scientists

We have four students in our room that completed Prism projects!  They did a great job and the projects will be on display tonight at Science Night!
