Camouflage and Characters

Today we started to think about the characters for our narrative fiction. Each student made their own chart to develop their characters looking at both internal and external features. We also did a camouflage activity in science. We hid colored frogs and butterflies outside. The rainbow items definitely stood out faster than the realistic ones.

Sharing Reading

Today we practiced different ways to share our reading with a partner. We talked about various ways to discuss a book to get a conversation going. It went very well!  Of course the class was way more excited for the delicious slushies courtesy of Ryan!

Another Great Day!

Today we started to find ideas for our fiction stories. We thought about our own lives and used our own experiences to generate ideas. We also finished up the crazy creatures and their adaptations.

A Day of Firsts

This morning we have been busy!  We had our first assembly of the school year and met our first grade buddies.  Our class has partnered up with Mrs. Boyd's first grade and we had a great first meeting.   Check out the new shirts too!  Students are asked to wear them to all Leader in Me assemblies.

We Are 100% Smart!

We finished a survey today that showed our strengths. We learned that we all have special talents and abilities. Some of us are art smart, while others excel in numbers or people skills.   The students learned a lot about themselves.
