Lines, Rays, and Angles- oh my! 📏✏️

This week we continue our geometry unit. We have learned about the different types of lines and angles. Tomorrow we break out the protractors and will begin measuring and drawing angles.

Cards ⚾️ and Coding 💻

We celebrated the Cardinals opening day today - well most of us did!  In library the class worked with Legos and then some coding to control their Lego creations.

This is the Greatest Show 🎶

Today we got to see the second grade circus!  The class LOVED it and loved singing some Greatest Showman tunes on the way in and out. Second grade looked great!

Writing with Senses

Today we went outside for a bit in writing to enjoy the lovely gray day!  Students took notes on their observations and then we came inside and used our notes/senses to write a poem filled with sensory details.  We were lucky to make it outside literally minutes before the rain!

The Revolutionary War has begun!

Have you ever played tug of war in social studies?  Today we participated in a fun activity demonstrating the differences between the colonists and the British troops using tug of war.  We had a team representing the British troops, a group representing the colonists, and then a little assistance from the French. Ask your fourth grader about it tonight!

Metric Conversions

King Henry Doesn’t Usually Drink Chocolate Milk. That may seem like a crazy phrase, but it helps when converting the metric system. Using this phrase students can add or subtract zeros when converting their metric measurents using the chart below.
