Conflict Resolution
Today in counseling the class practiced their conflict resolution skills. Plus- who doesn't love a fortune teller? The class used fortune tellers to give them different situations to find the best resolution.

Building Buddies
Today we met up with our buddies in the Creation Station and completed a straw challenge. The students had to develop a plan and had 15 minutes to create a freestanding straw tower. Gavin's team had the tallest!

Pollination with Cheetohs
Today we learned about pollination and the importance of bees in science. Students used cheetohs to demonstrate how pollen can spread from one plant to another.

Text Structure
Today we looked at short passages and determined the text structure. We will continue looking at different text structures for the rest of the week. In our guided reading groups we have been completing scavenger hunts looking for text features. We are really getting to know how nonfiction text is organized!

Camouflage Critters
Today we had a fun camouflage lesson in which students were on different teams trying to find animals that may or may not have blended in their environments.

Cute, Creative Creatures
Today we wrapped up constructing creatures with unique adaptations. The class had a lot of fun using the materials from the Creation Station. 

We started essay writing today. We love ones at the format for a five paragraph essay and started with a simple class topic today- "I love ice cream". Below is the format we will use for our essays.

Getting Creative in Science
Last week students created creatures with different adaptations using the website "Wild Yourself". Today the students created models of their creatures using materials from the Creation Station. The creatures are turning out great!
