We reviewed in class for our math test tomorrow. We played a game of connect 4. The students seem to be ready, but I would recommend looking over the study guide tonight as well as practicing drawing angles and reviewing the differences between quadrilaterals.

We finished our Freedom Quilt today. We have finished our studies of the causes of the Civil War and next week we will learn more about the war.

Today we started to make a Freedom Quilt after reading the book Sweet Clara and the Freedom Quilt. This book helps continue our studies of slavery and the Civil War. 
We did a little Writing outside today to enjoy the beautiful weather. They insist the great outdoors inspire their poetry!

Our first grade buddies stopped by today to give us some encouragement for the upcoming MAP test. The class especially loved the good fortune predicted by their fortune tellers!
We have a room full of poets!  Today we worked on color poems and many included figurative language in these.

Today we started to practice measuring angles with protractors. This was a challenge but they worked through it. We will review this again tomorrow. 
Can you feel the love?  We worked on some cards and decorations for Librarian's Day tomorrow.

We have been revisiting measurement this week in our math stations. We are focusing on perimeter and area as well as capacity. We are also trying a new computer program called Redbird Math as well as Aleks.

We are starting geometry and today we looked at different types of lines in math.
