Today we continued writing poems with a focus on figurative language. Students added similes and metaphors to both new and existing poems. I love how they are so eager to share their writing with the class!

Look at the fun activity the students participated in during library today. Mrs. Graef was very impressed with their problem solving skills. 
We also learned to finger knit this afternoon. A group of third graders came to teach us as part of their Cause Group. 
Finally we have a metric system quiz tomorrow. We reviewed with Kahoot today.

Today we started our poetry unit in writing. We will be reading and writing poems and complete a fourth grade anthology at the end of our unit. 
The webquest in science is moving right along as well!

We looked over our writing today and scored ourselves. It is amazing how much they have grown as writers. 
Remember this phrase: 
King Henry Doesn't Usually Drink Chocolate Milk. This is what we are using to help us convert decimals. The attached sheet is coming home tonight to help.

Today we started an activity in science exploring online rocks and minerals. The activity is a webquest and students will go to different sites to answer questions. We also took time this morning to read everyone's writing. The class didn't get to see each other's reports last week so it was fun to share today.

Thank you for joining us this morning for the Expert Fair!  I am so impressed wth all of the informational writing your children have produced. They are wonderful authors!  We also had a visit with our first grade buddies and a third grade class. They were amazed with what they saw!

Don't forget we have a math test tomorrow!  We reviewed with a fun game today that teams could earn or take away points if they got a basket. It was very fun!  Study those conversions tonight as well as line plots.  Hope to see everyone at the Expert Fair tomorrow.
