Do You Want to Build a Snowman?
Today we finished up a math project where the students had to build a snowman. They had to budget money, think about weight (in both ounces and pounds) and work together to construct the snowmen. The results were some super cute snowmen! We also had a great time at the assembly and party today!

Award-Winning Writing
Today we celebrated the students' hard work writing opinion essays. They shared their writing in small groups and then decided on awards for each other.

Science Baseball Review
We played science baseball today to review for our science test tomorrow. Tomorrow's test is over chapter 5 which focuses on rocks, minerals, erosion, and weathering.

World Holidays Celebration
Today during block class students had the chance to experience different world holiday celebrations. We were so proud of our classmates that presented today! They did a great job!

Revising Opinion Essays
Last week we cut up our stories and lists and taped them together to form opinion essays. We then added in transitions to make it flow. We are now in the process of revising and then editing this work. A few students even started to publish today. They are turning out great!

Modeling the Rock Cycle
Today we made models showing the rock cycle. We have learned about igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. We will have a rock quiz on Friday.

Writing Introductions
Today we started our introduction paragraphs in our opinion essays. We started with a couple sentences to really grab the reader's attention, and then gave the thesis and supporting reasons. They did very well with this. Tomorrow- conclusions!
