Stompin' Out Drugs
Check out these cute boots to show how we Stomp Out Drugs! We shared our writing today and the class gave out many compliments for great writing. We also had a visit from retired Concord teacher, Mrs. Hausner, who taught us all about bats. Don't forget costumes tomorrow - in a bag! Students will change after lunch before the big parade at 1:40. Parties are 2:00-3:00.

October 27
We have had such a busy day! Today was our first time using Google Docs and it was a success! The students have access to their Google Drive at home so they can continue to work on their writing if they need to. We also shared time lines which were completely adorable! We also got a new student today which is always exciting. Don't forget jammies tomorrow!

All-school Pic and Assembly
What a busy morning we have had! We had another fun monthly Leader in Me assembly, and then a photo session for the yearbook. We took our first ever all school picture today and the class showed a lot of patience during this process. It should turn out great!

Make an Inference
This class has been working hard at the strategy Make an Inference in reading. They are so good at using the clues from the text combined with what they already know. A great book to practice this strategy is The Stranger by Chris Van Allsburg. Can you guess who the stranger is?

2 Digit Multiplication
This class is doing such a great job with 2 digit multiplying! I am so impressed. If they are struggling, it is because they need to review the basic facts. The process they have! We also started to learn about Lewis and Clark today. The class was very interested in their journey west and the Louisiana Purchase.

Distributive Property and Missouri Research
Today we learned about the distributive property of multiplication. This is another helpful strategy to use when solving a multiplication problem. We also did a little research comparing early St. Louis and early Ste. Genevieve.

2-digit Multiplication
The class was so excited today to actually begin 2-digit multiplication! We started small today using factors that do not require regrouping. The class really did very well! In writing we continue to add details to those small moment personal narratives.

Personal Narratives and Kahoot!
Today we continued to come up with small moment ideas for our personal narratives. We have talked about focusing on a small seed idea, not a big watermelon idea. We also had a fun review game using the website, Kahoot!, which allows you to make your own questions and type in answers on devices. Test is tomorrow!
